After soaking up the sun, sea and surf at Byron Bay, we decided to get off to coast road and head to the hills to explore another side of Australia. Time for mountains, rainforests and waterfalls, as well as a bizarre little town in love with weed.
We spent a day exploring Byron Bay, doing what we love best – hiking! There’s plenty of sun, sea, and surfing in this beautiful place, you can see why so many people come here for a day and are still here a month later.

Choosing the right van for our big Australian Adventure was pretty hard… there’s so many options. As we didn’t have to scrape the barrel with a super budget van, we chose something with a few little luxuries.
Mount Cook National Park is a must if you like hiking, lakes, glaciers, and mountains. It’s slightly off the beaten track so you get a different style of tourist here, and outstanding views of New Zealand’s highest mountain. And, of course, it’s special to us for an entirely different reason too.
