Two big backpacker destinations and the last of our Philippines trip – El Nido and Coron. This leg of the trip didn’t work out quite as planned… but that just gives us an excuse to come back, doesn’t it?
Boracay is a place you have to experience once…. it may be crowded and loud, but we had one of the best days of our trip so far. We paid for it the next day though!
We’ve had four days on Suquijor Island, a chilled out little place not known for it’s party lifestyle, but great for seeing a glimpse of the ‘real’ Philippines
On our first night on Siquijor Island, we were invited to a Filipino birthday party. We were the only westerners there but couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome. Not a bad start to our time on the island!
We’ve spent the last week learning how to scuba dive on Cebu Island. It’s opened up a whole new world, and wasn’t half as scary or hard as I imagined.
Our first impressions from the Philippines – great people, tasty food, rum that’s cheaper than water, and plenty of diving!
